After you create your business segments, you can adjust your settings to:

  • Allow employees to assign segments when they create reservations.
  • Automatically apply certain segments by default.

Allow employees to assign segments

If you want your employees to be able to assign a segment when they create a new reservation, you can enable it in your stay service settings.

1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.

2. Click on your stay service.

3. In the Options section, find the Options field.

4- Select Has configurable business segments.

5. Click Save.

Set up default segments

Default segments are automatically applied to reservations that meet certain conditions. They can be assigned to a reservation based on:

  • The attached travel agency
  • The channel the reservation was delivered through
  • The attached rate

Note: If more than one default segment applies to a reservation, the segment with the highest priority will be applied. Segments are prioritized as follows:

  1. Travel agency segment
  2. Channel manager / Distributor segment
  3. Rate segment
  4. Default segment for all reservations

Channel manager, Distributor, and default reservation segments

1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.

2. Click on your stay service.

3. In the Options section, set up which segments will be applied automatically, by default. See our reference article for an in-depth explanation of fields on this screen


4. Click Save.

Travel agency segments

  1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.
  2. Click on your stay service.
  3. Click Travel agency contracts.
  4. Click on a travel agency contract to update it, or create a new one.
  5. Under Channel manager segment, select the segment you want to be assigned by default.
  6. Save your changes: Click Save if you're updating a travel agency contract. Click Create if you're creating a new travel agency contract.

Rate segments

  1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.
  2. Click on your stay service,
  3. Click Rates.
  4. Click on a rate to update it, or create a new one.
  5. Under Segment, select the segment you want to be assigned by default to reservations made with this rate.
  6. Save your changes: Click Save if you're updating a rate. Click Create if you're creating a new rate.
