Connecting your key encoders to Mews Operations is a great way to cut down on check-in time and simplify processes. After you set up the Salto integration, you can cut keys directly in Mews Operations without ever needing to use the Salto application.

NOTE for properties using Salto HAMS:

Properties may still (at their own risk) connect, but note that this product is no longer supported by its manufacturer and therefore Mews will not be able to give any assistance. We recommend you upgrade your door lock solution to a more recent version.

System requirements

To use the Salto integration, you'll need:

- Ethernet encoders by Salto.
- If you don't already have ethernet encoders, contact Salto to upgrade.

- Mews Open API and the Salto application installed on the same computer at your property.
- If it has not already been installed at your property, please see our guide for instructions on how to install Mews Open API.

Step 1: Set up the Salto integration

Before you can set up the Salto integration, you must have the Salto application (either Salto ProAccess Space Configurator or Hotel Access Management Software) installed on a computer at your property.

Note: While you'll need the Salto application downloaded onto the same computer as Mews Open API, you'll still be able to create/manage keys from any computer at your property via the web browser.

Run the Salto application

  1. Open the Salto application on your computer.

  2. Go to your PMS settings, and:
    - Make note of the Interface port (under Parameters), which you will need when creating the integration in Mews Operations.
    - Make sure the TCP/IP channel is selected.

How it looks in ProAccess SPACE:

Go to System > General tools > PMS.

How it looks in Hotel Access Management Software:

  4. Click Connect.

  5. In the Name field, enter “Salto.”

  6. In the API URL field, enter the IP address and the Interface port (found in the Salto application) in the following format: port. For example, if your interface port is 6666, you should enter in this field.

  7. Leave the Username and Password fields blank.

Step 3: Map Salto rooms/doors cutters in Mews Operations

  1. In the Salto integration settings, click Key cutter mappings.

  2. Click the + button.

  3. Under Room, select a space number from the drop-down list.

  4. In the Lock identifier field, enter the corresponding space number as it is listed in your Room or Door configuration in the Salto application.

  3. Next to your key cutter integration, click Settings.
