You set up the Distributor booking engine in Commander and then add it to your website, so customers can book their reservation directly through you.

Step 1: Set up your T&Cs

Before you start using Distributor, you need to complete your property's terms and conditions in order to be compliant with requirements from your payment gateway provider (Adyen or Stripe).

You can provide your T&Cs in the form of a URL (which links to the terms and conditions page on your website), or you can write them yourself and format them with HTML.

Link to your T&Cs with a URL

  1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.
  2. Click on your stay service.
  3. Under Options, enter either a T&C URL or T&C HTML.
    - You only need to complete one of these fields—if you complete both, the T&C URL will be used by default.

  4. Click Save.

Format your T&Cs with HTML

  1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.
  2. Click on your stay service.
  3. Click Documents.
  4. Click the + button.
  5. Under Type, select Terms and conditions.
  6. ClickCreate.
  7. Enter the terms and conditions in HTML.
  8. Click Save.

Step 2: Configure your booking engine

You can create multiple configurations of the Distributor booking engine.

  1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.
  2. Click on your stay service.
  3. Click Distributor configurations.
  4. Click the + button.
  5. Enter the name of this configuration and click Create.
  6. Complete all relevant fields.
  7. Click Save.

Step 3: Map your space categories

All of your space categories are listed in Distributor by default, so you only need to map your space categories if there are some that you don’t want to be listed.

Note: When you create new space categories in Commander, don’t forget to map them (or else they won’t be listed in your Distributor booking engine).

  1. In your Distributor configuration, click Category mappings.
  2. Click the + button.
  3. Under Category, select the space category you want to map in Distributor.
  4. In the Ordering field, choose the order you want your space categories to be listed in on Distributor.
  5. Click Create.

Get the most of Distributor

All of the info listed in Distributor is pulled from Commander, so it’s important that every aspect of your stay service is fully configured with customer-facing details, especially:

Space categories

Make sure the following fields are completed for every space category listed in the booking engine:

  • Normal bed count
  • Extra capacity
  • Description
  • Image
  • Order email template

Rates

Make sure the following fields are completed for every public rate:

  • Name
  • Description
  • External name

Note: Only the cheapest rates from each rate group are listed in Distributor.

Products

Only products attached to your stay service with the Offer to customers option enabled are listed in Distributor. Make sure the following fields are completed for every product attached to your stay service:

  • Name
  • Description
  • External name
