To view the Accounting Report, click Accounting report on the Dashboard or go to Main menu > Finance > Accounting report.

The Accounting Report is an overview of all revenue posted in Mews Commander.

Filters

You can refine data in this report with the following filters:

  • Type
    - Closed - View all revenue for bill items that have been completely processed in the selected time period.
    - Consumed - View all revenue for bill items consumed in the selected time period. This may include items on open bills.
    - Created - View all revenue for bill items created in the selected time period. This may include items on open bills.
  • Mode
    - Detailed - View each individual revenue item grouped by type.
    - Grouped - View revenue item totals grouped by category.
  • Start - Select a start date to restrict results to a specific time period.
  • End - Select an end date to restrict results to a specific time period.
  • Group by - Choose how to group the data in the report.
    - Accounting category - Group by accounting categories used at your property.
    - Accounting category classification - Group by accounting category classification.
    - Bill - Group by bills assigned to customers, companies, and those unassigned.
    - Creator - Group by the person who posted the items.
    - Date - Group by date.
    - Group - Group reservations by the group name.
    - Order - Group by each order.
    - Service - Group by service and subsequent products of each.
  • - Service order - Group by the service order—this will either be nights (from the stay service) or product orders.
    - Service order origin - Group by the origin of each booking.
    - Tax identifier - Group by the tax ID attached to a bill or invoice.
    - Tax rate - Group by each available tax rate.
  • Assignee - View bill items assigned to company or customer.
    - Company - View a line data representing each company.
    - Customer - View a line of data representing each customer.
  • Bill Counter - Select a bill counter from the drop-down menu to see only bills and invoices closed through there.
  • Company - View items from a specific company.
  • Service - View items from a specific service.

Features

The data in this report is divided into four sections: Revenue, Payments, Transactions and Outlets.

  • Revenue - The reported revenue during the selected time period.
  • Payments - The payments received during the selected time period.
  • Transactions - The deposits posted during the selected time period.
  • Outlets - The reported revenue from connected outlets during the selected time period.

Click the + button next to each item in the report to expand it and see more information, ordered from general to specific.

The Accounting Report lists products once, at the date of consumption. Products ordered per night are also grouped into one item (for example, if a guest stays for 3 nights and orders "Parking" per night, the Accounting Report will list "Parking" with a count of "1" after the guest has checked out). This is different to how products are listed in the Product Report, so the "Count" in these reports will be different.

Revenue

Your revenue items are listed with the following details:

  • Bill item - The bill item.
  • Count - The number of items.
  • VAT rate - The tax rate applied to the item.
  • Net - The total, excluding tax.
  • VAT - The value-added tax, excluding the price of the taxed item.
  • Amount - The total value of the item (net + VAT).

Payments

Your payments are listed with the following details:

  • Payment - The payment.
  • Count - The number of payments for this service.
  • VAT rate - The tax rate applied to the item.
  • Net - The total, excluding tax.
  • VAT - The value-added tax, excluding the price of the taxed item.
  • Amount - The total value of the item (net + VAT).

Transactions

This section contains your deposits because deposits are not counted as revenue. Learn more about how deposits work, how to set them up, and how to create them.

Your transactions are listed with the following details:

  • Transactions - The deposit item.
  • Count - The number of payments for this service.
  • VAT rate - The tax rate applied to the item.
  • Net - The total, excluding tax.
  • VAT - The value-added tax, excluding the price of the taxed item.
  • Amount - The total value of the item (net + VAT).

Outlets

Your outlets are listed with the following details:

  • Type - The revenue item from your outlet.
  • Count - The number of items.
  • VAT rate - The tax rate applied to the item.
  • Net - The total, excluding tax.
  • VAT - The value-added tax, excluding the price of the taxed item.
  • Amount - The total value of the item (net + VAT).

Tip: Export this report to Excel to easily view all of your revenue according to the filters selected, make necessary corrections, and then import it directly to your external accounting system.
