This article shows you how to export the .har file from your browser. Choose the browser that you use and follow the instructions:

Google Chrome

To copy the .har file from your Google Chrome browser:

  1. Open a new tab in your browser.

  2. To open Developer tools,

    -press F12, OR

    -press CTRL+SHIFT+I), OR

    -go to View > Developer > Developer Tools

  3. A panel opens on the right side of the screen. Navigate to the Network tab.

  4. In the top left corner of the tab, there is a round button (⏺️), Make sure it is red. If it is grey, click on it once for it to turn red. Red means it is recording.

  5. Check the box Preserve log.

  6. Click the Clear button (🚫). This clears out any existing logs from the Network tab.

  7. Refresh your or page.

  8. Click on the download icon in the top right corner of the panel. Download the .har file onto your system.

Mac (Safari)

To copy the .har file from your Safari browser:

  1. In your Safari browser, look for a "Develop" menu tab at the top of the screen.
    If it isn't there, go to Safari (Next to the apple sign) > Preferences > Advanced and check on "Show Develop Menu in menu bar".

    Note: The develop menu option is available only when you open another page after Safari's starting page.

  2. Open or

  3. To open the Web Inspector,

    - Navigate to Develop > Show Web Inspector, or

    -Click Option + Command + i

  4. Refresh your or page.

  5. Navigate to the "Resource" tab.

  6. In your or page, press "Control + click" on the menu bar and download the .har file.

  7. Right-click on your touchpad and select "Save file".
