The response message:

You took too long to place the card on the encoder. The encoder cancelled your command. 

Why this happens:

Key encoder devices usually allow a certain amount of time for a user to place or insert a key card. If the encoder did not detect any key cards after the pre-set amount of time, it will cancel the key creation command and return a “Time Out” error to Mews.

How to resolve:

Try to create the key again and ensure you have placed or inserted a key card in/on the encoder machine in a timely manner.
