The response message:
In your KeyCutter JSON setting in Mews, a UserType which does not exist in Vision was entered. Please enter a UserType into Mews which does exist in Vision. Read more here:
Why this happens:
In your Vision software, you can set up User Groups and User Types*. When you set up the connection between Vision and Mews (set up guide here), you will find instructions on how to incorporate these two elements in Mews under point 5 in Step 2: Set up Vision key cutters.
This error could be returned if you have not included the correct "UserType" in the Data JSON field.
*For more information about User Groups and User Types, we recommend consulting the Vision user manual.
How to resolve:
Go to Marketplace > My subscriptions, then click into your Key cutter integration > Key cutters.
You should see something like this:
Once in the page, check if you a “UserType” specified. This should match an existing User Type in your Vision software.
- If you do not have a User Type specified, add this information by clicking on the encoder to go to the editable page:
If you observe that you already have a “UserType” specified, yet your key creation attempts still return this error:
- Double check in your Vision software whether this User Type still exists, is active, and not disabled in any way
