There are many possibilities for why a credit card payment could fail.

To find out the reasons as to why a credit card transaction has failed/ was declined, the Payments tab of a guest's profile. From there, under the payment attempts, in the Reasons column, it will provide a reason for the failed payment

If 3DS is required by the guest's bank, and the guest begins the authorization but doesn't complete it, the payment can get canceled and the following message will appear.
