In Switzerland, HESTA reporting is conducted at a national level to gather statistics about arrivals and beds, organized by guests' country of origin.

  1. Go to Main menu > Marketplace. In the Legal environment section, click See more under Swiss tourist accommodation statistics (HESTA).

  2. Click Connect. Under Service, select a bookable service.

  3. Use the Space category field to choose which space categories will be included in the report—this is useful if you're required to create reports per address; simply select all of the space categories located at one address. If you don't specify space categories, the report will include all of your space categories.

  4. Under Property code, add your property's BUR number. This number is provided by HESTA—if you don't have one, you can request one from [email protected].

  5. In the Recipient emails field, set the email address as [email protected] so that the report is automatically sent to HESTA monthly.

  6. Enter the amount of time past midnight to send the report in the Daily report execution time field. For example, setting Daily report execution time to 10 minutes will send the report at 00:10.

    Note: If this field is left blank, the export won't be emailed.

  7. Under Send monthly export on day, choose the day of the month the export should be sent on (for example, enter 10 to get the last month's report on the 10th of each month).

    Note: If this field is left blank, the export won't be emailed. HESTA requires that you send the export on the first day of each month.

  8. Click Create. When the integration has been successfully created, you'll be redirected to the My subscriptions tab.

  9. In your list of active integrations, find the Swiss tourist accommodation statistics (HESTA) integration and click Settings.

  10. Select the Enabled checkbox. Click Save.

The export will be sent to the email address you listed in the Recipient email field every month—when you receive it, you just need to upload it to the HESTA portal.

  • Q: How do I cross check whether the Total arrivals in the HESTA report match with correct information in Mews?

    A: A single reservation in the PMS can comprise of the reservation owner and a companion. In order to show total number of individuals arriving, we export data including companions. To view this information, in the Customer profiles report in the PMS, use the Overlapping mode and specify the first day of the previous month and the last day of the current month.

    For example: To show data for January 2021, select 01/01/2021 - 01/02/2021

Note: Do not use the reservations report compare data with the HESTA export, as the reservations report looks at reservations posted per night, rather than the total number of guests present.

  • Q: How do I cross check whether the Total nights in the HESTA report match with correct information in Mews?

    A: To compare the total number of nights occupied with the HESTA report, we recommend you use the Customer statistics report and set the filter to Colliding.

Note: The HESTA report does not report missing companions, but the customer statistics report does. So if you fill only half the number of companions, only half the nights are reported in HESTA. Therefore, we recommend that you complete all companion details before exporting the HESTA report.
