Before you start

  • Before you set up a Rentals United integration in Commander, you need to have already purchased Rentals United.
  • If you're already live with Mews, we won't configure whole channel manager integrations for you—we'll just handle the testing, and help you out if you have any problems.
  • Only one rate can be synchronized in the Rentals United Integration in Mews.
  • Maximum stay of length restrictions is not supported with the Rentals United integration.

Step 1: Connect Rentals United

  1. Go to Main menu > Marketplace.
  2. Under Categories, click Distribution.

Rentals United FAQs

Availability updates

Rentals United connection does not accept availability updates when number of spaces is higher than configured in Rentals United. These could happen in the following scenarios:

  • Deliberate overbookings

If you have 10 spaces within Double room space category and decide to adjust availability to 11 spaces using Mews Availability screen, this update will fail. Rentals United does not support deliberate overbooking.

  • New space added to a mapped space category

If you add a new space to the existing space category, the total number of spaces needs to be adjusted in Rentals United as well. Please reach out to Rentals United Support Team via [email protected] to adjust the total number of spaces within a space category.

Rate price updates

It is impossible to send 0 prices as a part of rate update to Rentals United. Such updates will result in errors and won't be processed.

Currency conversion

It is possible to convert rate prices into other currency in Rentals United extranet. For example, If Mews sends a price update in EUR and a property is created in USD in the Rentals United extranet, all EUR amounts will be automatically converted into USD amounts.

Descriptive data (description, images, cancellation policy, etc.)

The Rentals United integration synchronizes descriptive data from Mews to Rentals United and then distributes it to channels.

This includes property name, description, images, website, email, telephone, full address, space categories, mapping relation between the mapped rate and space categories and cancellation policies.

Images and Description Requirements

Rentals United requires the properties to have descriptions for all space categories, as well as a minimum of 10 images uploaded. These should be uploaded in Mews and Rentals United will pull the information and distribute it to connected channels.

Note: the first image added to a space category description will be set as the main image in Rentals United.

Cancellation policy

Rentals United can only pull cancellation policy with relative penalty.
