Packages

  • It is possible to create package rates (rate+product) that will be sent to your channel manager.
  • Packaged products are never mapped in a channel manager extranet or OTAs.
  • Packaged products are never visible in a channel manager extranet.
  • Packaged product cost is always added on top of a night price. E.g., night- $100 and breakfast- $20, Mews will send $120.
  • No need to create a product rule. When a reservation arrives for this rate, Mews automatically adds the packaged product to the reservation, based on the RateMappingCode.
  • The correct breakdown of accommodation and product cost will be visible in the reservation and billing.

NOTE: This is available for all channel manager connections but it works with products per night or per person per night only.

  • It is not possible to send upsell products prices to a channel manager.
  • Upsell products need to be mapped in Mews and channel manager extranet.

  • Charging rule needs to be the same between Mews and a channel manager extranet. E.g., charging rule in Mews is Once, then it also has to be Once in the channel manager extranet.
  • Mews Charging rules always prevail over channel manager charging rules.
  • Product prices that we receive from a channel manager prevails over product prices configured in Mews.

Product rules and channel manager reservations

If products can't be mapped, instead, you will need to create a product rule.

  • If you have a product rule, product price is never communicated to a channel manager.
  • When a reservation arrives in Mews, product price can either be added on top of the total price or included in it. The correct breakdown of accommodation and product cost will be visible in the reservation and billing.

- To include product price in the reservation total cost, you should leave Exclude price from offer option unchecked.

- To exclude product price in the reservation total cost, you should have Exclude price from offer option checked.

  • We recommend to add a description to notify bookers that extra fees may apply or extra services are included in the price of accommodation.

If you don't know how create a product rule, check this guide.

Product rules with negative product prices

If you have a hardcoded city tax, which is added on top of reservation cost but you need to discount it for certain reservations, follow the below steps:

  • Create a product with a negative price and check Exclude price from offer option

  • Create a product rule, which specifies in what cases this product should be added.
