Before you start

  • Before you set up a INNsight integration in Mews Operations, you need to have already purchased INNsight.
  • If you're already live with Mews, we won't configure whole channel manager integrations for you—we'll just handle the testing, and help you out if you have any problems.
  • This integration works in a net pricing environment only.

Step 1: Connect INNsight

  1. Go to Main menu > Marketplace.
  2. Under Categories, click Distribution.
  3. Find the INNsight integration and click See more.
  4. Click Connect.

Step 2: Map space categories

When you connect the INNsight integration, all of your space categories are mapped automatically.

  • If you don't want a space category to be sent to INNsight, you can remove it.
  • If you need to add more space categories in the future, you can manually map them.

Remove mapped space categories

  1. In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
  2. Find the INNsight integration and click Settings.
  3. Click Channel manager rates.
  4. Find the rate that the space category is connected to, and click on the channel manager ID.
  5. In the Channel manager categories section, find the space category you want to remove and click the icon.
  6. Click Delete.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 for every space category that you don't want sent INNsight.

Manually map space categories

  1. In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
  2. Find the INNsight integration and click Settings.
  3. Click Channel manager categories.
  4. Click +.
  5. In the Channel manager ID field, enter a unique code for this space category. We recommend that you create a short code to describe the space category (e.g., "PRES" for "Presidential Suite").
    - Don't include spaces or special characters.
  6. Under Category, select the space category you want to send to INNsight.
  7. Select the Synchronized checkbox to send availability updates to the channel manager.
    - If a space category is unsynchronized, no updates are sent.
  8. Click Create.
  9. Repeat steps 4-7 for every space category that you want to map.

Step 3: Map rates

When you connect the INNsight integration, all of your public rates are mapped automatically.

  • If you want some rates to be removed entirely (so reservations can't be made with them), you can remove them.
  • If you want private rates to be sent, you can manually map them.

Remove mapped rates

If you want to completely remove a rate so no reservations can be created with it, delete or unsynchronize the rate in both Mews Operations and INNsight.

Manually map rates

  1. In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
  2. Find the INNsight integration and click Settings.
  3. Click Channel manager rates.
  4. Find the rate you want, and click on the channel manager ID.
  5. Click +.
  6. In the Channel manager ID field, enter a unique code for this rate. We recommend that you create a short code to describe it (e.g., "NRBB" for a non-refundable rate that includes breakfast).
    - Don't include spaces or special characters.
  7. Under Rate, select the rate you want to send to INNsight.
  8. Find the Synchronized checkbox and decide which updates you want to send to the channel manager.
    - Synchronized rates send pricing and restriction updates to the channel manager.
    - Unsynchronized rates don’t send pricing or restriction updates to the channel manager, but can still receive reservations.

    If you want to manage rate pricing in INNsight rather than Mews Operations, make sure the rate is unsynchronized.
  9. Click Create.

Step 4: Connect space categories to rates

  1. In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
  2. Find the INNsight integration and click Settings.
  3. Click Channel manager rates.
  4. Find the rate you want, and click on the channel manager ID.
  5. Connect the rate to one or more space categories:
    - Click +, and then click + Channel manager category to only connect specific space categories (for example, if it's a promotional rate).
    - Click to connect all mapped space categories to the rate.

Step 5: Products mapping

NOTE: INNsight provides unique codes for product mapping.

Package products to ensure they're added to your channel manager reservations. If the product is charged per night or per person per night, it can be packaged with a rate.

If the product is charged once or per person, it cannot be packaged with a rate, but it can be booked as additional service.

Step 1: Map the product

1. In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.

2. Find the INNsight integration and click Settings.

3. Click on the Plus button to map a product.

4. In the Channel manager ID section, enter a channel manager mapping code.

5. Click Save.

6. Repeat steps 3-5 for every product that you want sent to INNsight.

NOTE: If you map a product charged once or per person, you do not need to move to the Step 2.

Step 2: Connect the product to a mapped rate (only for package products)

1. In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.

2. Find the INNsight integration and click Settings.

3. Click Channel manager rates.

4. Find the rate you want to package a product with, and click on the channel manager ID.

5. Click +, and then click + Channel manager product.

6. Under Product, select the product you want.

7. Click Create.

8. Repeat steps 5-8 for every product that you want to be available via INNsight.

- Repeat these steps with the same rate to package it with multiple products.

Step 6: Map travel agencies

For each travel agency, you need to create a profile/contract and set up mapping. Then, Mews Operations will be able to automatically detect and handle any new reservations from that agency.

With INNsight, we recommend that you only map the most specific reservation sources. Not sure what we mean? Learn more about travel agency mapping.

Step 7: Send mapping info to INNsight

  1. In Mews Operations, go to Main menu > Marketplace.
  2. Go to My subscriptions.
  3. Find the INNsight integration and click Settings.
  4. Find and copy the Channel manager ID.

Send it to INNsight support ([email protected]).


- Note: INNsight refers to this ID as a "connection token."

  1. INNsight support will pull the Mews Operations mapping information to INNsight and instruct you on how to complete the mapping in INNsight. When you're finished, you can continue to the next step.

Step 8: Test the integration

Note: If there are any errors with your mapping setup in INNsight or you didn't finish, this test will fail. To resolve any mapping issues in INNsight, contact INNsight support.

  1. In Mews Operations, go to Main menu > Marketplace.
  2. Go to My subscriptions.
  3. Find the INNsight integration and click Settings.
  4. Under Enabled operations, select Upload availability, Upload rates, and Upload restrictions.
  5. Click Save.
  6. In the Options section:
    - Under Action, select Push inventory.
    - Under From, select today's date.
    - Under To, select 1 week from today.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Refresh the page.
    - If you have mapping errors, your selections under Enabled operations will no longer be selected, and a detailed list of the errors will be sent to the address entered in the Notification email field. Fix the errors and repeat steps 4-8.
    - If the inventory update is successful, we'll send an email to the address entered in the Notification email field.
  9. When you have no mapping errors, log in to your INNsight account and compare the availability, rates, and restrictions to those in Mews Operations.
    - If they don't match, make sure you don't have availability limits, commissions, taxes, or markups added in INNsight. If you need help with this step, please contact INNsight support.

Step 9: Enable the integration

  1. In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
  2. Find the INNsight integration and click Settings.
  3. Select the Enabled checkbox.
  4. In the Enabled operations section, make sure that Upload availability, Upload rates, Upload restrictions, and Receive reservations are selected.
  5. Click Save.
  6. In the Options section at the bottom:
    - Under Action, select Push inventory.
    - Under From, select today's date.
    - Under To, select 365 days from today.
  7. Click OK.
