This is still in a pilot phase. We will announce once Google Hotels integration is generally available.

What does Google Hotels direct integration do?

  • Google Hotels integration sends real time inventory updates (prices, restrictions and availability) from Mews to Google Hotels.
  • Google Hotels integration does not send reservations to Mews.
  • In Google Hotels, bookers will find a link to Mews BE where they make reservations.
  • Google Hotels integration pulls mapping, space category images, cancellation policies and Mews BE ID.
  • When you update your Google Hotels integration in Mews (mapping, enable/disable the integration), Mews notifies Google Hotels. Then Google Hotels pulls the latest integration setup. So you maintain the integration in Mews only.

How does onboarding look like?

Make sure you have a Google My Business account created. If you don't have it yet, follow this guide to register.

  1. A property adds a Google Hotels integration in Mews.
  2. Mews automatically maps all public rates and all space categories.
  3. A property updates mapping.
  4. A property prepares a Mews default BE for direct bookings from Google Hotels.
  5. Once a day Google will pull all newly created integrations from Mews and it will make your profile in Google Hotels visible and open for bookings.

That's it! No mapping testing required! It is all handled automatically.

Note: Google requires 48 hours to put you on Google Hotels.

Step 1: Mews Booking Engine setup

  • Follow this guide to create/update a Mews BE.

  7. Click OK.

Step 7: Wait to be activated in Google Hotels

  • Mews cannot speed up onboarding.
  • To check your status, please go to your Google Business account.

Good to know things!

Free Booking Links

Google launched a program where you can list your property free of charge. Check this article to learn more. Also, Free Booking Links can be combined with Google Hotel Ads.

Price accuracy

  • It is crucial that prices in Google Hotels and Mews BE match.
  • Google team monitors price accuracy and can remove your listing if prices do not match. But first you will be notified about this in the Google Hotels Center.

Check this article to learn more about Price accuracy policy.

How does it work with GTM?

Nothing changes here. You can still add a Google tag to your Mews BE configuration.

Check these guides to set GTM and Google Analytics:

What price does Google Hotels display?

Google Hotels shows the lowest price based on the applied filters.

Cancellation policy

  • Google Hotels pull cancellation policy of each mapped rate in Mews.
  • In Google Hotels, rates can be filtered based on the cancellation policy. For example, a guest can add a Free cancellation only filter.

Cancellation policy translation between Mews and Google Hotels

  • A rate considered strictly non-refundable when no offset configured in Mews.
  • A rate qualifies for a Free cancellation tag in Google Hotels, when it gives enough time to cancel. For example, if the reservation is 3 months away and there's an offset of 2 months, it is likely to show up as Free cancellation. While an offset of 6 hours on a same day reservation is not likely to show up as Free cancellation.

Occupancy based pricing

  • You can set different prices for each guest count by adjusting Empty and/or extra bed adjustment. See this article to learn more about occupancy based prices in Mews.
  • Google Hotels can accept up to 10 pax prices per one rate.

Mapping update

When you update mapping (create/remove/synchronize/unsynchronize rate, space category), Google Hotels is automatically notified.

  • Just make sure Change notification operation is enabled.
  • Trigger a manual push for a year.

Your newest updates are now processed in Google Hotels. No configuration error emails! Google Hotels updates mapping based on inventory update.
