Use segments to classify reservations by any attribute relevant to your operations (such as purpose of the stay, group or individual, etc.).
You can assign segments to travel agencies, channel managers, rates, and reservations. This allows you to gather statistical information about segments from reports (such as the Reservation Report) to identify trends and target customers more effectively.
After you create a business segment, you can adjust your settings to:
- Allow employees to assign segments when they create reservations.
- Automatically apply certain segments by default.
Create a segment
- Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.
- Click on your stay service.
- Click Segments.
- Click the
+
button. - Enter the name of the segment and select the classification.
- If you have automatic city tax turned on, the segment classification can affect how city tax is paid. For example, if your legal environment specifies that only guests travelling for leisure should be charged city tax, city tax will automatically be applied to all reservations that are classified as leisure with a segment.
