How to create a product bundle in Mews POS

Product bundles in Mews POS allow you to connect multiple sellable products or their variants. They then appear as one menu item choice. Mews POS treats the product bundle as a single item in the cart or on the invoice. You can use this feature to create fixed-price menus or other combinations of menu items.

 

To create a product bundle from the Mews POS web dashboard:

  1. Click Products.
  2. Click Bundles.
  3. Click . The New product bundle side window appears.
  4. Complete the following:
    • Name: Enter the name of the bundle.
    • SKU: Enter the stock keeping unit reference for the item.
    • Tile label: The system generates this name automatically but you can rename it. Mews POS displays the tile label in the app product list and in the app shortcut grid.
    • Tile color: Click a tile color to select it or click Add image to upload and add a custom image. This image is visible in the app shortcut grid. Note: Mews POS recommends using a square 100x100 pixel image.
    • Barcode: Enter a barcode number, if applicable.

    • Reorder groups: Click the slider switch to enable reordering of the product groups you create. This determines the order of appearance of the groups in the Mews POS app. Note: Click and drag  with the slider switch enabled to reorder groups.
    • Fixed Bundle Price:  Click the slider switch to enable a fixed price for this bundle. This enables configuration of group prices and disables configuration of item prices.
      • Variable price: You configure the price of each item you add to the bundle. Mews POS sets the price of the bundle by combining the prices of all items in the bundle the customer selects. Note: Mews POS sets the bundle to a variable price by default.
      • Fixed price: You configure the price of each group and then enter the sum of this amount into the bundle price field to configure the cost of the bundle.
    • Show products on receipt: Check the box to enable each of the bundle components to appear on the customer's receipt. Note: If you disable this option, only the bundle name appears on the customer receipt.
  1. Click add group:
    • Group Name: Enter the name of the item group, for example, Main course.
    • Group Price: Enter the price of the group, if applicable.
    • Default course: Click the drop-down to select the course for the item group.
    • Product Name: Click the drop-down to select a product to add to the item group.
      • If the product has variants, additional checkboxes appear. Check the boxes to disable any variants you do not wish to include in the bundle.
    • Price: Enter or edit the price of the item or variants.
    • Add product: Click to add additional items to the item group.
  2. Repeat Step 5 for any additional item groups. Note: It is mandatory to have at least 2 item groups.
  3. Click Save.
