Cash drawer won't open in Mews POS, STAR mPOP printer disconnected from an iPad device

The printer connection to the cash drawer is usually the reason for cash drawer issues in Mews POS. Your iPad loses Bluetooth connection with the mPOP printer every time you turn it off. Drawer does not open without Bluetooth connection, and you cannot print receipts.

To resolve this,

  1. Download the mPOP Utility application from App store on your iPad. Set up the auto connection for the selected Bluetooth device in the mPOP utility app:
  2. Enter the mPOP utility app. Go to Installation > Pairing and Connect Bluetooth.
  3. Select your printer on the list, for example STAR mPOP-K0159. Make sure to connect the printer via Bluetooth with the iPad.

In the app:

  1. Sign in to the app.
  2. Enter the menu and go to Settings > Printers.
  3. Check if the printer appears in the list. If not, then tap on the Add printer and select Bluetooth.
  4. If two printers of the same name appear as connected devices, remove one of them.
