How to send monthly guest occupancy data using the eStatistik.core integration in Mews Operations

You submit monthly guest and occupancy statistics to the German Federal Statistical Office using the eStatistik.core integration to meet legal requirements. You can do this directly in Mews Operations after connecting to the eStatistik.core integration. This helps you prepare and send reports in the required format without manual data handling. You typically complete this process at the end of each reporting period. You can locate the integration in the Mews Marketplace.

How to connect and use the eStatistik.core integration in Mews Operations

Step 1: Prepare for the eStatistik.core integration

Before you connect the integration, collect the required credentials and identifiers.

 

  1. Obtain your eStatistik.core account credentials. You receive these credentials once you register with eStatistik.core:
    • Username
    • Password
  2. Obtain your reporting unit ID:
    • Register for an IDEV account
    • Receive your reporting unit ID from the Federal Statistical Office

You can now connect the integration.

Step 2: Connect the eStatistik.core integration
  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Menu arrow right  > Marketplace.
  2. In the Legal environment section, find eStatistik.core integration for Germany.
  3. Click Explore.
  4. Click Connect integration.

You can now access the integration from My subscriptions.

    Step 3: Configure the eStatistik.core integration
    1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Menu arrow right  > Marketplace.
    2. Open My subscriptions.
    3. Click eStatistik.core integration for Germany > Edit > Configuration.
    4. Fill in the following details:
      • Service: Click to select one or more bookable services, such as Stay. Note: You can select only services charged per night.
      • Sender: Enter your eStatistik.core username.
      • Password: Enter your eStatistik.core password.
      • Report recipient: Select your region.
      • Company type: Select your property type.
      • Report entity: Enter your reporting unit ID.
      • Space categories: Select the space categories to include in the report for the service(s) you selected.
    5. Click Save changes.

     

    Connecting rooms

    If your property uses connecting rooms, review your space category selection carefully to avoid counting errors. Two situations may require attention:

    • Parent and child spaces share the same space category: There is no perfect selection: selecting that category causes overcounting; not selecting it causes undercounting.
    • Parent spaces share a space category with standalone spaces: Selecting that category causes overcounting.

    In both cases, Mews recommends creating a dedicated space category for the parent spaces of your connecting rooms, for example, "Connecting Room", so you can exclude them from the calculation precisely.

     

    Note: Arrivals and stays are always counted correctly regardless of your space category configuration. If a reservation is on a space whose category is not selected, but that space belongs to a connecting room structure where another component (parent or child) is selected, the system automatically includes it in the total arrivals and nights count.

     

    You can now use the integration to prepare reports.

    Step 4: Complete guest profile data for reporting

    Accurate guest data ensures correct reporting results.

    1. Open a reservation in Mews Operations.
    2. Review each guest profile and add the following details:
      • Country of origin
    3. Repeat for all accompanying guests. Note: If companion profiles are incomplete, the system assigns them to the main guest’s nationality.
    4. For group reservations, ensure each guest has an individual profile.

    You can now generate accurate statistics based on guest data.

    Step 5: Export monthly data to eStatistik.core
    1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Menu arrow right  > Marketplace.
    2. Click My subscriptions > eStatistik.core integration for Germany > Edit > Configuration.
    3. Fill in the following details:
      • Month: Click to select the reporting period.
      • Export option:
        • Click Send test export to send a test export and validate the data, or
        • Click Send export to submit official data.
    4. Optionally, you can add closure details, if applicable:
      • Closure date
      • Reopening date
      • Final closure date 
        Note: The system includes closure dates in the reporting calculations. Mews recommends running a test export before submitting officially to verify your figures and catch any configuration issues early.
    5. Click Export data.

    You can now view the submitted data in the eStatistik.core portal and download the validation file.

    Step 6: Validate your eStatistik.core report data

    You can validate your report data to ensure that the exported statistics correctly match your data in Mews Operations.

     

    Validate report totals
    You compare totals to confirm accuracy before or after submission.

    • Use the Availability and Occupancy report to verify:
      • Offered room nights
      • Occupied room nights
    • Use the Reservation overview report to verify:
      • Total arrivals
      • Total nights

    Validate guest data by country
    You check guest nationality data to ensure correct country-level reporting.

    • Use the Customer statistics report
    • Confirm that all guest profiles include nationality or country of origin
    • Ensure all companion profiles are completed

    You can now confirm that your report data correctly matches your data in Mews Operations.
