Synchronize guest data using the Amadeus GMS integration in Mews Operations

The Amadeus GMS integration in Mews Operations provides a strategic approach to guest relationship management. Integrating with the entire guest’s journey, allowing you to reach out to current, past, and prospective guests with personalized touchpoints.  

 

With Amadeus GMS, you can: 

 

  • Efficiently manage guest data and forge stronger relationships. 

  • Send impactful transactional and marketing emails that resonate. 

  • Build loyalty and rewards programs. 

 

 

Note:  

  • Amadeus GMS works best with iHotelier. Mews recommends you connect the iHotelier integration first, then enable the Amadeus GMS integration. 

  • Amadeus GMS integration does not support Upsell functionality. 

  • Contact your Customer Success Manager if you have a different channel manager integration to discuss it in more detail.

Step 1: Match profiles between Mews, iHotelier and Amadeus GMS

Amadeus GMS identifies profiles by using the iHotelier profile ID. This is the only variable that GMS uses to determine whether to link an existing profile between Mews and Amadeus GMS or to create a new one.

Mews stores iHotelier profile IDs since October 14, 2024. If your property connected iHotelier before this date, your customer profiles in Mews do not have iHotelier IDs. To enable profile matching, update the Mews profile database before connecting Amadeus GMS.

Properties connecting iHotelier after October 14, 2024

  • All your customer profiles in Mews contain an iHotelier ID.

Steps:

  1. Continue to Step 2 to proceed with the Amadeus GMS connection.

Properties that connected iHotelier before October 14, 2024

  • Your customer profiles in Mews do not have iHotelier IDs.
  • You need to update your profiles before connecting to GMS.

Steps:

  1. Contact iHotelier and request a reservation re-push to Mews.
  2. Then, continue to Step 2 to proceed with the Amadeus GMS connection.

Properties with existing customer profiles in both Mews and Amadeus GMS before October 14, 2024

  • Your customer profiles in Mews do not have iHotelier profile IDs.
  • Your profiles in Amadeus GMS contain iHotelier profile IDs, which are required for linking during onboarding.

Steps:

  1. Confirm with Amadeus if your property falls into this case.
    • If yes:
      • Inform Mews for guidance by using the Mews Digital Assistant.
      • Request Amadeus to re-push reservations. Note:
        • Amadeus should not charge an extra fee for this service.
        • Complete the reservation re-push before connecting Amadeus GMS.
  • Reservations then include profiles with the iHotelier profile ID.
  • The reservation re-push updates profile IDs for future reservations.

 

  1. Then, continue to Step 2 to proceed with the Amadeus GMS connection.

 

 

 

 

Note: Enable the integration only in the very last step. Otherwise, historical sync fails. 

 

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu  A black text with a right arrowDescription automatically generated with medium confidence >Marketplace. 

  1. Under Categories, click Customer management. 

  1. Locate the Amadeus GMS integration, then click Explore. Alternatively, you can search for the integration using the search box at the top left side of the screen. 

  1. Click Connect integration. 

The Amadeus GMS integration generates a unique URL using credentials. 

 

Before onboarding, the Amadeus GMS team shares the following credentials with you: 

  • Hotel name 

  • Building code 

  • Username and password 

 

Ensure you enter: 

  • The hotel name into the integration name in Mews. 

  • The building code into the Channel manager code. 

  • The username and password into the respective fields. 

 

  

 

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu  Mews Operations Menu Icon   >Marketplace> My subscriptions. 

  1. Locate the Amadeus GMS integration, then click Edit to go to the settings. 

  1. ClickChannel manager rates. 

  1. Click Mews Operations + Icon Channel manager rate at the screen’s top right corner. 

 

    • Rate code: Enter a unique code for this rate. Mews recommends using the same mapping code as in your iHotelier integration.

    • Rate: Select the rate you want to map.

  1. Click Create. 

 

Repeat steps 4-5 for each rate you want to add. 

 

Note: Ensure you map all your private rates as well. Otherwise, Mews sends RATENULL to Amadeus GMS, which GMS uses in customer emails that contain rate information. 

 

 

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu  Mews Operations Menu Icon  >Marketplace> My subscriptions. 

  1. Locate the Amadeus GMS integration, then click Edit to go to the settings. 

  1. Click Channel manager categories. 

  1. Click Mews Operations + Icon  at the screen’s top right corner. 

 

    • Space category code: Enter a unique code for this space category. Mews recommends creating a short code to describe the space category. For example, "PRES" for "Presidential Suite". Note: Do not include any spaces or special characters. 

    • Category: Select the space category you want to map. 

  1. Click Create. 

 

Repeat steps 1-5 for every space category you want to map. 

 

Step 5: Map products

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu  Mews Operations Menu Icon  >Marketplace> My subscriptions. 
  2. Locate the Amadeus GMS integration, then click Edit to go to the settings.
  3. Click Channel manager products.
  4. Click Mews Operations + Icon  at the screen’s top right corner.
    • Product code: Copy the product mapping code from your iHotelier integration and paste into the field.
    • Product: Click to select the corresponding product from the dropdown menu.
  1. Click Create.

 

 

 

 

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu  Mews Operations Menu Icon   >Marketplace> My subscriptions. 

  1. Locate the Amadeus GMS integration, then click Editto go to the settings. 

  1. Select the Enabledbox. 

  1. Under Enabled operations, ensure to select Pull profiles and Synchronize reservations. 

  1. Click Save. 

 

This completes the connection and configuration of the Amadeus GMS integration from the Mews Marketplace.  

 

To see reservations Mews syncs to Amadeus GMS: 

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Mews Operations Menu Icon   > Queues > Channel manager. 

 

Note: Depending on the number of reservations, Mews can take a few days to display the synced reservations. 

 

 

  

  • Once you enable the integration, Mews triggers a historical sync.
  • You cannot manually trigger or re-trigger the sync, so follow all the steps above carefully.
  • Historical sync includes past, present, and future reservations and customer profiles.
  • The Amadeus GMS integration syncs a maximum of 5 years of data.
