Mews sends your property an account statement on the 20th of each month to the invoice email address registered on your account. An account statement is a standard finance document that summarizes your current balance, outstanding invoices, credits, and payments. You receive it so that you can review your financial position with Mews and take any necessary action, such as settling outstanding balances or requesting a refund.

Why is there a negative balance?
A negative balance means there is more money credited to your account than you currently owe, or that an adjustment has been made in your favor. This can happen after an overpayment, a credit note, or another correction.
In case of an overpayment, when do I receive the money?
If there is an overpayment, Mews applies the amount to future invoices by default. If you prefer a refund, you can request one through the Mews Digital Assistant. Refunds depend on internal processing times and on your bank's processing times. Allow several business days after approval for the funds to arrive.
How do I request a refund?
If you want to receive a refund instead of applying the amount to future invoices, follow these steps:
- In Mews Operations, click
Help / Contact us in the top right corner.
- In the chat, ask for a refund review.
- Attach an official bank document, such as a recent bank statement or bank account confirmation, that shows:
- The account holder name
- The International Bank Account Number (IBAN) or account number
- The Bank Identifier Code (BIC) or Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) code, if applicable
Providing a complete bank document helps Mews process your refund as quickly as possible.
Why doesn’t Mews deduct the money from the payments balance?
Mews only deducts money automatically when there is enough available balance at the time the deduction runs. If your available balance is too low, or if some funds are still unsettled or reserved, the deduction may not happen yet. In that case, the outstanding amount remains visible on your statement until more funds settle or you pay the invoice another way.
Where is the payment link to settle this outstanding balance?
Mews provides payment links on individual invoices. If you want to settle using a payment link, refer to the relevant invoice directly.
If you have multiple invoices to pay, Mews can provide a bulk payment link on request. To request one, open the Mews Digital Assistant.
How do I know if Mews received the money?
Once Mews receives and processes a payment, the system removes the corresponding balance from your next account statement. Mews does not send further reminders for invoices that have been paid.
What happens if I do not settle the balance?
If you do not settle the balance, this can lead to suspension and termination of your systems with Mews. If you are unsure how to proceed, open the Mews Digital Assistant.
Can I receive an account statement after the 20th of the month?
Yes. Mews can generate account statements on request. To request one, open the Mews Digital Assistant.
Why isn’t the card payment link working?
Card payment links can expire after a year. You can pay by bank transfer or request a new payment link through the Mews Digital Assistant.
