Payment statuses are only available when you capture a payment through Mews Payments or Mews Terminals.
Charged
The payment gateway has successfully charged the card and waiting for funds to be allocated to Mews Payments so they can then be paid out to your bank account. If this status remains as is for a lengthy period of time, this could be because your payouts are disabled.
This is the only status that also appears in external and cash payments. For any transaction that is not performed via Mews Payments, the "charged" status only means that the payments were correctly reflected on the system, but it doesn't mean that actual funds were processed.
Settled
Funds have been paid out to your bank account.
Verifying
A charge has been initiated and waiting for the customer to verify it. You can move verifying payments to open bills, but you can't close that bill until the payment has been verified.
If a payment falls into this state, Mews emails the guest with a link to verify the payment. This link remains active for 24 hours, meaning the payment status can also remain as 'verifying' for up to 24 hours.
Pending
Mews is waiting for confirmation from the payment gateway. If more than 12 hours go by in this status without confirmation, it moves to Failed.
If the Pending status belongs to a Payment Request, it is possible to cancel it by clicking the 3 dots next to the payment request on the payments screen.
