Assign a static IP address to a Star printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Feed button. While holding it, turn the printer back on.
- Release the button when the configuration report prints. Note the printer’s IP address from the report.
- On a device connected to the same network, open a web browser and enter the printer’s IP address (for example, http://192.168.1.123).
- Log in to the Star Network Utility:

- User: root
- Password: public
- If prompted to change the password, select Cancel to skip.
- In the left menu, go to IP Parameters and select Static
- Enter the Static IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway from the report, and click Submit.
- In the left menu, click Save, then select Save → Configuration printing → Restart device, and click Execute.
- The printer restarts and prints a new report showing the static IP address.

Turn off the printer.

Hold the Feed button, turn the printer back on while holding it, then release when it starts to print.

Note the IP address from the printout.

In a browser, enter the printer’s IP address (for example, http://192.168.0.2).

Log in to Epson WebConfig:

- User: epson
- Password: epson
Note: In some cases, the password can also be the serial number of the printer or a code that can be found under the cache of the printer. There is usually a lock logo to locate it.

In the left menu, click Configuration -> Network -> TCP/IP.

If the IP address, Subnet mask, or the Gateway do not autofill, enter the values from the printout.

Change Get IP Address to Manual,

Then click Send.

Click Reset and wait for the printer to restart, and print a new configuration ticket with the new IP address.
- Enter the printer’s IP address in a browser to confirm if the IP address is reachable.
