Returns in Mews POS are records of the products you send back to your suppliers. They form an important part of the inventory tracking system. When you complete a return, Mews POS updates the stock records in your inventory. You can quickly create returns from previous deliveries from the Mews POS dashboard. This enables you to link together the delivery and return of stock for inventory tracking purposes.
To complete an inventory return from the Mew POS web dashboard:
- Click Inventory, then click Deliveries.
- Locate the delivery that contains the items you want to return and click
. This opens the Delivery details screen.
- Click Return Items. This opens the Select returned items screen.
- Click the checkbox next to the product name to select the relevant products for return. Note: Any products you select here appear in the New return screen.
- Under Returned, enter the quantity into the text box.
- Click Save Items. This displays the New return screen.
- In the New return screen, complete the following information:

- Document Date/ Time: Enter the date and time of the document: Note: The system defaults to the current date and time.
- Notes: Enter any notes.
- Under Items, confirm the following information:

- Product name: Ensure the products appear for return here.
- Returned: Ensure you enter the quantity.
- Package Price: Enter the package price, if applicable.
- Tax rate: If applicable, click the drop-down to select the tax rate that applies to this item.
- Subtotal: Ensure the subtotal is accurate.
- Total: Ensure the total is accurate.
- Click Add Item to add more items. Note: You can click Save to save as a draft and return later.
- Click Process to complete the return.
This completes the return. You can view your new return on the returns screen.
