How to create passkeys for your Mews account

Passkeys are a secure and easy way to log into your Mews account without relying on email or two-factor authentication. You create a passkey once and use it to access your account from devices like your phone, browser window, or tablet. You set up a passkey in your user account via the Privacy and security section. You can create one or multiple passkeys to simplify your login process, which is helpful if you often use shared devices or don’t have email access. Learn more about passkeys.

Note

  • Starting April 23, 2026, all admin users in Mews must use passkeys.
  • Passkeys work in Firefox, but support remains limited. Firefox stores passkeys using your device’s operating system, instead of an internal password manager. If your IT department disables tools like Windows Hello or Apple Keychain, Firefox cannot store passkeys. In that case, use a hardware key, for example, Yubikey or save a passkey on your mobile device.
  • For the best experience, use a browser like Chrome or Edge, or use a dedicated password manager like 1Password.
  • If you encounter issues saving your passkey to Google Password Manager, check its settings and enable the Use and save passwords and passkeys from your Google Account option.
