Creating reservations from the Timeline lets you book services for your guests while viewing availability. This helps you save time and simplify the reservation process. Use this feature to make a reservation quickly and easily, directly from the Timeline in Mews Operations.
You can create reservations within the Timeline view based on the service’s time unit:
- Day/Night services: Use the day view.
- Hourly services: Use the hourly view.
To view the Timeline in Mews Operations,
- click
Timeline on the Dashboard, or
- go to the main menu
> Reservations > Timeline.

Create a reservation from the Timeline in Mews Operations
To do so:
- In Mews Operations, go to the Timeline.
- Locate the desired date and service on the Timeline. You can use the search or scroll options to find availability.
- Select the time block for your preferred service. The system immediately displays a new reservation window.
- Select the dates for which you want to make a reservation.
- Mews automatically displays the space you selected for your reservation. Select the number of guests by age categories staying in each space. You can change the requested space in the next screen.
- In Rate, select the rate you want to charge. Mews excludes restricted rates from the list. Note: Employees Users with the "Override rate price" permission can modify the reservation rate price and offer a discount, when authorized.
- Click Next.
- On the Availability screen that opens, you can change the reservation dates as needed.
Under Options, type to enter the customer's name to find or create their profile in Mews Operations. You can also connect the reservation to a booker, travel agency, company, voucher, or segment.
Note:- Selecting a travel agency, company, voucher, or segment can affect the rates that are available for booking the reservation.
- When creating a reservation in Mews Operations, Mews automatically applies the rate’s segment, if available, or the service’s default segment to your reservation. When creating a reservation, you can manually choose your preferred segment for each reservation. You can learn more about this here.
- The screen displays public vouchers only. On assigning a Company or Travel agency to the reservation, if there is a voucher attached to it, Mews automatically displays the rates assigned to the company or travel agency voucher. You don't need to select the specific voucher.
- To locate the correct travel agent contract, in the Travel agency field, enter the unique IATA number of the company attached to the contract. Mews displays a list of travel agents based on your search. Select the correct travel agent and continue with the reservation process.
- If the customer wants to order additional products with their stay, such as breakfast, you can add the products. You can learn more about adding products when you make a new reservation here.

Under Availability, review and confirm the selected space and rate. By default, Mews displays the space category you select in the previous step. You can adjust this if necessary.
- Click the
button next to the rate to add the reservation to your cart. From here you can add another reservation or click Next to proceed.
- You can now add any final details and create the reservation(s). You can learn more about adding the final details here.
- Click Book now.
This creates the reservation(s) in the system. You can manage your reservations in the Reservations management screen and view and access them from the Timeline.
