The Smart detail window in the Timeline

In Mews, you can use the Timeline to manage a variety of aspects concerning past, present or future reservations. From the Timeline, you can click on a reservation and access the Smart detail side-window. Here, you can view a quick summary of all the necessary information for a guest’s check in or check out. You can also access it via the Reservation overview report and the Customer management screen at any time. From here, you can cut keys, access the Reservations management screen and more.

Accessing the Smart detail window:  

To access the Smart detail window in Mews Operations,  

  • on the dashboard, click Image Timeline > click a reservation, 
  • on the dashboard, click Image  Reservation overview > click Details on the reservation card, or
  • enter the guest's name in the search bar > Click the Dashboard tab > Click Details on the reservation card.

Using the Smart detail window

  • In the Reservation tab, you can view the following sections and complete these tasks:
    • Click the space number to view details about the space, such as space category and space features. 
    • Click  Lock to lock or unlock this reservation.
    • Click next to Notes to view any notes about the guest. Note: You can add notes in the Properties tab of the Customer management screen.
    • Click the guest’s name to view their profile in the Customer management screen. 
    • Click More info in Smart tips to view an AI-generated summary of any guest’s preferences, past and upcoming stays and special requests. Note: This is only available for properties with a Pro or Enterprise subscription.
    • Click the amount due to view or close any outstanding bills. Note: To be paid includes the amount for any past outstanding bills as well as bills from a guest's current stay.
    • Click the  next to Rate for a breakdown of the daily rate and total.   
    • Click the  next to Items for a breakdown of any purchased products or additional expenses. Note: Total amount shows the total amount for the current stay which Mews calculates by adding consumed products and nights.
    • Click Check in to check in a reservation, inspect spaces, override a preauthorisation and cut keys.
    • Click Check out to check out a reservation and close balanced bills. 
    • Click Confirm to confirm an optional reservation and send a confirmation email.
    • Click Manage to open the Reservations management screen
    • Click Image  Registration cards to print or export the guest’s reservation card as PDF.
  • In the Group tab, you can view the following sections and complete these tasks:
    • View information on group bookings, for example, how many adults or children are in a particular booking.
    • Click the space number to view details about the space, such as space category and space features.
    • Click to view their status in the Customer management screen.
  • Click Image  Profile to view their profile in the Customer management screen. 
  • Click Image  Billing to view their billing information as well as any unpaid items.
