The Reservations management screen
The Reservations management screen in Mews displays key reservation details and actions. It has a split-screen layout:
- The right pane shows the reservation's status, configured arrival and departure times, and updates when actual events occur.
- The left pane contains financial and operational details, including billing and reporting data, which remain unchanged by check-in or check-out actions. From here you can perform administrative actions within the reservation, for example, check a guest’s balance, create tasks, cut keys, or change the housekeeping status.
To access a particular customer's Reservation management screen:
- From the Timeline select their reservation and click Manage, or
- Enter the customer's name in the Mews Dashboard search bar and click on their reservation.
In this article you can learn more about the following tabs in the screen:
Status
- Print registration cards
- Check the guest's balance
- Move spaces and check in the reservation
- Choose the housekeeping status and skip cleaning instructions from the Housekeeping drop-down:
- Make inspected: To mark a space as inspected.
- Skip today's cleaning: To skip cleaning for the day. This option is only visible if the space is dirty.
- Skip all cleaning: This option is visible for reservations that are either 3 days or 3 nights long, depending on the type of service.
Note:
- You need to set up your stay service to choose Enable skip cleaning in the Visit options field within the Options section.
- You can reset the cleaning schedule by clicking on Enable Cleaning.
- Guests can choose to skip cleaning during their online check-in once you enable the Hotel for Trees integration in the Marketplace.
- Cancel the reservation, undo check-in and check out
- Check in reservations, cut keys in bulk, update space statuses and check for preauthorizations
- Create tasks
- Perform bulk actions categorized by reservation status. For example, undo check-in for all checked-in reservations, update confirmation status for unconfirmed reservations.
- Click View policies to view details about the payment and cancellation policies that apply to this reservation.
Properties
- Modify the information you entered when the reservation was created. Note: For restored reservations, the right pane shows an updated arrival time, reflecting the restoration event. The left pane keeps the original reservation times, as if it was never restored, ensuring financial consistency.
- Click View policies to view details about the payment and cancellation policies that apply to this reservation.
Group
- Merge group
- Rooming list
- Add customers to the reservation
Pricing
- Change rate or modify the price of the reservation
- Click View policies to view details about the payment and cancellation policies that apply to this reservation.
Items
- Add manual deposits
- Add or cancel a product
Mailing
- Resend emails to customer or booker
- Add a custom message to a customer or booker email
Action Log
- View actions performed by users
Summary
- Get an overview of the stay period for your selected reservations, reflecting the service booked for the requested time unit.
- View the total number of adults and children present for the selected reservations, and view the occupied spaces grouped by space category with additional information on the number of spaces booked per category, per day and the number of occupants.
- View products consumed, and products to be consumed, for the selected reservations, along with additional expenses.
- View the current states of selected reservations and the rates booked.
- Print or view the list of nights and spaces for selected reservations.
Billing
- New billing screen section.
Contracting
- Attach documents and add a name, signature status, signature date or deadline, expiration date and notes.
- You can add documents in PDF, JPEG and PNG format.
Note:
- Before you edit a reservation, it is important to ensure that you select the correct reservation.
- You cannot make changes to a reservation outside of the occupancy interval.
