How to add guest relationship information to customer profiles in Mews Operations

In Mews, guests can define their relation to other guests they are traveling with, for example, families, couples or friends. These relations appear automatically on all connected guest profiles once you or your guests configure them. Guests can configure these during kiosk and online check-in. You or your staff can view or configure these at any point.

This allows greater control when deciding which guests need to fill in certain details in the Check-in form. It also helps your staff personalize the guest experience with context about guest relationships. The system automatically displays if it is staff or a guest who adds the relation information. If a member of staff adds the information, you can also view the details at any time in the Action log.

The customer management screen with a red box highlighting the Related guests section.

To add guest relationship information to customer profiles:

  1. In Mews Operations,
    • Enter the guest’s name in the search bar and click their name, or
    • Click on any upcoming reservation from the Reservation overview or Timeline and click on a guest’s name.
  2. In the Customer management screen, under Related guests:
    • Click Add + to save a suggested relation for a specific guest. Note: Mews suggests related guests when two or more profiles have matching reservations together. You need to manually add and specify the relation for Mews to save it.
    • Click + to add a guest that is not in the suggestions, then enter their name under Guest.
  3. In the new side-window, click to select: Spouse, Parent, Child, Other family, Colleague, Friend or Other.
  4. Click Add.

This adds guest relationship information to profiles.

If you add information about one guest’s relationship to the other, it automatically appears in both profiles. For example, if you add John Smith’s parent as Lily Smith, Lily Smith’s profile automatically displays “Child: John Smith”.

You can learn more about the check in form in the Customize your kiosk and online check-in with the Check in form help article.
