Mews has updated the reservation module with a redesigned layout that lets you find, view, and edit reservations without losing your place in the system. Front desk and reservations staff use this when handling anything from a single booking to a large group block, whether that means checking a guest in, updating dates of stay, or adding a note.
What the updated reservation module does:
With the updated reservation module, you can manage any reservation, from a single booking to a block of 100 guests, without navigating away from your current screen. Changes made in the side panel are reflected immediately in the table, so this means you always have an accurate, up-to-date view of your reservation inventory.
Note
- Mews is currently rolling out the updated reservation module to all regions and may not be available in your region at this time.
- The new module and its side panel are currently available from the reservation module page and from the smart detail panel in the Timeline. They become available in additional areas of the property management system over time.

How to manage reservations using the new reservation module
What has changed in the reservation module
The updated reservation module introduces the following main changes:
-
The reservation list is now a table-based view with sorting, filtering, and search built into the column headers. You no longer need to scroll through reservations one at a time or open each one individually to compare information. You can also group rows by any column and save your preferred default view.
-
A new reservation side panel opens when you select a guest from the Timeline, displaying all key reservation details in one place and letting you make edits inline. You stay in your current screen without having to navigate into the full reservation module to complete a task.
-
Mews has also introduced a new check-out dialog. If the reservation has any unbalanced bills, they are displayed in this dialog, so you can resolve them before completing check-out. Balanced bills are also shown here, and you can close them directly as part of the check-out flow.
How to find and filter reservations in the table view
-
Open the reservation module from the reservation module page.
-
Use the search bar at the top of the table to search by guest name, reservation number, or other identifiers.
-
Select any column header to sort the table by that column, or use the filter option within a header to narrow results by a specific value.
-
To group reservations, for example, by room type or reservation status, select the group by option and choose the attribute you want to group on.
-
To save your preferred column order, grouping, and filters as your default view, select Save view.
For example, if you are managing a group block of 100 guests, you can filter the table by group name or status to locate specific reservations instantly rather than scrolling through the full list.
How to view and edit a reservation using the side panel
-
From the Timeline, locate the guest whose reservation you want to view.
-
Select the guest to open the reservation side panel on the right side of the screen.
-
Review the reservation details displayed in the panel. Key information, such as dates of stay, room, occupancy, and reservation notes, is visible immediately without expanding any sections.
-
To edit a field, select the pencil icon next to it, make your change, and select Save. The panel updates immediately.
-
To perform a status-based action, such as checking in, cancelling, or restoring a reservation, select the action button at the top of the panel. The button label changes based on the current status of the reservation.
Note: For sections such as rate details and additional details, select the section header to expand it and view the full information.
To add or change a guest on the reservation:
-
In the side panel, locate the occupancy section.
-
Select Add guest or the edit occupancy button to search for or create a guest profile. The guest count updates dynamically.
To view or add reservation notes:
-
Scroll to the Notes section in the side panel. Notes are open by default.
-
Type directly in the notes field to add or update a note, then save.
To view tasks linked to the reservation:
-
Select the Tasks tab icon in the side panel. The icon displays the number of open tasks.
-
Review or act on tasks from this view without leaving the panel.
How to take action on multiple reservations at once
-
In the table view, select the checkbox next to each reservation you want to include.
-
The bulk action toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen, showing the actions available for all selected reservations: for example, check in, cancel, resend confirmation email, lock spaces, or mark as inspected.
-
Select the action you want to apply.
Note: The list of available bulk actions updates dynamically based on the statuses of the reservations you select. If the selected reservations have different statuses, only actions that apply to all of them appear in the toolbar.
For example, if you select two reservations that are both due for check-in and one that is already checked in, the check-in action does not appear, because it does not apply to all three.
How to switch between the old and new versions
During the rollout, you can switch between the previous version of the reservation module and the new version at any time.
-
Open the reservation module.
-
Select the version switch control in the module header.
-
Choose the version you want to use. Your preference is saved and applies each time you open the module.
Note: The version switch is available during the transition period. Once the new version is fully rolled out for your property, the switch is no longer available and the new module becomes the default.
You can now find a reservation in the table view, open and edit it in the side panel, and act on several reservations at once. This means you can handle a single booking or a large group block without navigating away from the screen you are working on.
