Note

Where do I get the documentation for mapping?

  • SiteMinder provides the mapping file.
  • You can download the mapping file from your SiteMinder Property Platform and then upload it to Mews Operations to automatically map any matching items.
    • Manual mapping remains available.
    • Automatic mapping acts as an optional shortcut for SiteMinder only.

How do I download the mapping file from SiteMinder?

  1. In your SiteMinder Property Platform, select the Distribution tab in the top menu.
  2. In the side menu, select Connectivities and then select Mews Commander.
  3. On the main page, select the three dots in the top right corner.
  4. Select Download rates configuration to download a CSV file with all room rates and mapping codes.

How do I upload the mapping file in Mews Operations?

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Main menu icon  > Settings > Property > Onboarding dashboard.
  2. Under Distribution, select View tasks.
  3. Under Connect a channel manager, select Upload file. Note: The upload option appears only for enterprises connected to SiteMinder through the Mews Marketplace.
  4. Upload the CSV file from SiteMinder.
  5. Review the automatically mapped items.
  6. Continue with manual mapping to complete or adjust the setup if needed.

What should I map?

  • You must map everything in the provided mapping file because the channel manager expects this data. Map your channel manager rates, room categories, and applicable products. These must match the setup in SiteMinder.

Which options should I select in the SiteMinder Mews Marketplace integration?

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Main menu icon  > Marketplace > My subscriptions.
  2. Locate the SiteMinder integration and click Edit to go to the settings.
  3. Under Enabled operations, click to select:
    • Download reservations
    • Upload availability
    • Upload rates.
    • Upload restrictions.
  1. Under Options, click to select:
    • Create company and travel agency profiles
    • Cancellation fees. Note: Select this option only if you charge cancellation fees.
    • Age categories. Note: Select this option only if you operate with age categories.
  1. Click Save.

SiteMinder does not support manual reservation downloading in the integration, even if you enable the setting. To download reservations with ID, import the reservation with the import file or create it as a new one. No modifications and cancellations apply to imported reservations. You receive an email notification about the attempt to modify or cancel the reservation.

Map companies and travel agency contracts (optional)

This step is optional. You should complete this only if you want to assign reservations received from the channel manager to a company in Mews Operations.

For each travel agency profile you want to map, complete the steps in the article here.
