Hotels for Trees for Mews Operations

Hotels for Trees is a direct integration that lets your guests support sustainability by planting a tree whenever they choose to skip housekeeping services. Guests staying for 2 to 3 nights can either skip cleaning for their entire stay or opt out each night for up to 3 nights. You can activate this integration directly in Mews Operations, allowing guests to make eco-friendly choices during their stay.

This is a one-way integration, meaning Mews Operations automatically sends the number of skipped cleanings to Hotels for Trees, which then manages the tree-planting process.

Note:

  • Hotels for Trees plants a maximum of 1 tree per night the guest skips. You can see the impact on the Hotels for Trees website
  • If you need Hotels for Trees invoices or want to negotiate a slightly different payment agreement, contact Hotels for Trees directly.

Using the Hotels for Trees integration

Mews automatically enables the integration on connection. Guests can now choose to skip cleaning by adding the Hotels for Trees option during online or in person check ins.

For online check-ins

For guests who are checking in online, the Guest Portal allows them to choose the Hotels for Trees option at the end of their check in process. This is only available for 2-3 nights stays and guests can only skip cleaning for the entire stay. They can click:

  • Skip cleaning: To skip cleaning and plant a tree.
  • No thanks: To finish their online check-in without skipping cleaning.

    Managing reporting

Once enabled, the integration updates the space status bar at the top of the Space status report to include a ‘Skip cleaning’ counter. 1. Click Export
    2. Then click Export to Excel to export to an Excel sheet.
