System for Cross-Domain Identity Management (SCIM) is a tool for hospitality professionals who require automated user management in Mews. It simplifies how you set up and manage your users, by synchronizing your user data across different systems, as you manage them in a single location using your Identity provider (IdP), for example, Microsoft Entra ID. If needed, you can disable SCIM in Mews at any time, for example, if you change your IdP.
This guide provides instructions on how to turn off SCIM provisioning to stop syncing user data from your IdP.
In this article you can learn about the following:
You need administrative access to both Mews and your IdP provider to disable SCIM user provisioning.
To disable SCIM user provisioning in Mews Operations:
- In your Mews account, go to the main menu
> Security > SCIM Provisioning.
- Follow the steps below.
To disable SCIM user provisioning in Mews Multi-Property:
- In your Mews account, go to the main menu
> Settings > Security > SCIM Provisioning.
- Click the slider switch next to Enable SCIM user provisioning to turn the slider to off:
-
Click Save changes to confirm your choice to stop user data synchronization with your IdP.
This disables SCIM for your Mews account.
When you provision a user into Mews using SCIM, you can’t manually modify a user’s account in Mews. Even if you disable the SCIM configuration, you cannot directly modify the provisioned user. You first need to remove SCIM from your property, or portfolio account. To do so, you can contact your Customer Success agent.
After disabling SCIM for your Mews account, you can enable SCIM again at any time by clicking the slider switch to on. If you have already offboarded SCIM or SSO, and want to onboard again, you can contact your Customer Success agent.
