Passkeys are a secure, phishing-resistant method of logging in to your Mews account. They let you log in without a password and protect your account from phishing attacks that rely on stolen credentials. To minimize security risks to your property, you can enforce passkeys for all users at your property. Once a user creates a passkey, they can use it to access their account from devices such as their phone, browser window, or tablet. Passkeys sync through cloud services, for example, iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager, as well as third-party or browser native password managers. This allows users to login without needing to remember a password.
Note: Starting April 23 2026, all admin users in Mews must use passkeys.
To enforce passkeys for all users in Mews Operations:
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Settings > Security.
- In Passkeys, click Configure.
- Enable the Require users to create passkeys slider switch.
- Under Exceptions, enter email addresses to exclude them from mandatory passkey creation. Note: For security reasons, Mews does not recommend this.
- Click Save changes.
This requires all users in your property create passkeys for their account.
