How to reset Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for users in Mews Operations

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) requires users sign into their Mews Operations account in two steps:

This adds an extra layer of security to your Mews property account. It is important to secure your user accounts to protect sensitive protect sensitive guest information, financial and company data from unauthorized access. As a security best practice, Mews enforces 2FA as mandatory for all Mews accounts.

If you lose access to your authenticator app, for example, if you lose your phone and are unable to generate this 6-digit code, you are temporarily unable to login to Mews Operations.

Only Admin users with sufficient permissions can reset the 2FA for these users. Once the Admin resets 2FA, users can then login using just their username and passwords and re-enable their 2FA.

Note

  • Admins need the “Reset two-factor authentication (2FA)” permission enabled on their user account to reset 2FA.
