How to reset the Two-Factor authentication (2FA) authenticator app in Mews Events

Two-Factor authentication (2FA) enhances the security of your Mews Events account by requiring an additional verification step when signing in. You can reset the 2FA configuration in Mews Events, for example, when you change the authenticator app. 

Note:  

  • Resetting 2FA for your Mews Events account does not reset it for your Mews account. You must configure 2FA separately for each product. 
  • If you reset your authenticator app key, your current 2FA setup no longer works until you complete the new configuration. This means, if you do not finish the process, you lose access to your account.

How to reset Two-Factor authentication authenticator app in Mews Events 

To reset your 2FA authenticator app, follow these steps: 

  1. In Mews Events, click your user icon  at the bottom left to open your Account page. 
  2. Go to Privacy & Security > Two-factor authentication > Authenticator app > Reset authenticator app. 
  3. Click Reset authenticator app to generate a new QR code. 
  4. Scan the new QR code using your preferred authenticator app to reconfigure 2FA. Alternatively, manually enter the key to your authenticator app. 
  5. Enter the six-digit verification code generated by the authenticator app into the Verification code field. 
  6. Click Verify to complete the setup. 

 

This resets your 2FA authenticator app configuration.
