Set up Two-Factor authentication (2FA) using an authenticator app

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is enforced as mandatory for all Mews accounts to add an extra layer of security. You increase the security of your account when you use both a password and an authentication method to sign in.

After you set up 2FA, you sign into your account in two steps:

  1. Download the authenticator app as above and click Continue.

  1. Scan the QR code and follow the instructions on the screen. Note: You can manually enter the code into your authenticator app in case of any issues. To make the code appear, click Can’t scan the QR code

  1. Enter the code that your authenticator app provides in the Authentication code* field.

  1. Click Continue

  1. You need to save the codes displayed on your screen prior to activating 2FA. Take a screenshot or write them down to store them in a secure location. You can use these codes if you lose access to your account, or when you don’t have access to your phone.

Notes

  • You cannot view your recovery codes again after you click Continue
  • You can only use each code once.
  • To use a one-time recovery code, enter it in the Password field when signing into your account

You can set up and use a password manager to store your passwords and recovery codes. You can learn more here.

  1. Click Continue

  1. Click Close.

You have now set up and enabled two-factor authentication for your user account.
