Mews enforces two-factor authentication (2FA) as mandatory for all Mews accounts to add an extra layer of security. You increase the security of your account when you use both a password and an authentication method to sign in.
After you set up 2FA, you sign into your account in two steps:
- Using our Mews user account password, and
- With a link or code sent via email, OR an authentication code from an authenticator app such as Google authenticator, iCloud Keychain, or Microsoft Authenticator.
Note:
- Mews recommends activating 2FA via email and following all recommended security best practices.
- You might hear the link via email referred to as a “magic link”. It is a validation link the system sends via email as a second step of the two-factor authentication.
In this article you can learn:
How to set up two-factor authentication via email
You can set up two-factor authentication via email to log into your Mews account. This is useful if, for example, you cannot access an authenticator app while logging in.
If you want to set up 2FA for your Mews account, or your property has enforced two-factor authentication, you can set up authentication for your user account while logging in. If you log in from a web browser, you receive a link. If you log in via the Mews mobile app, you receive a login code.

- Enter your Email address or username, then click Continue.
- Enter your Password, then click Continue.

- Mews displays the Check your email screen and sends you an email with a link to take you directly to Mews.
- Open the email and click Log in, or the link below, to access your Mews account.
- Mews opens the main dashboard.
To set up 2FA from the Mews mobile app via email:

- Enter your Email address or username, then tap Continue.
- Enter your Password, then tap Continue.
- If your sign-in is successful, Mews opens the Enable two-factor authentication screen.

- You can open the email and make a note of the code.
- You can type the code into the Verify your email screen and tap Verify.
- Mews opens the main dashboard.
This process fully authenticates you and ensures enhanced security of your Mews account.
