Two-factor authentication in Mews Operations enhances the security of your account by requiring two methods of verification. Switching between authentication methods, such as moving from using an authentication app to email authentication, allows you to choose the method that works best for your workflow and increases your account security. You can make this change in your account's privacy and security settings at any time within Mews Operations. 

 

Note: 

• All users need to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) to log in and use Mews unless they are added to a 2FA exception list by an admin with Reset 2FA permission. Learn more about managing 2FA exception lists here.  
• Mews recommends 2FA verification via email as the most secure method of authentication.

How to switch between two-factor authentication (2FA) methods in Mews Operations 

To do so: 

1. In Mews Operations, click your profile icon > Account, as below: 

2. Select the Privacy and security tab. Under Authentication, click the Manage dropdown to select your authentication method, as below:  

3. Select Switch to email link. This opens Enter your password popup as below:  

4. Type to enter your password in the Password* field, then click Continue. 
5. You need to verify your identity to switch between authentication methods. In the Verify your identity popup, in the Authentication code* field, type to enter the code that appears in your authenticator app, as below:  

6. Click Verify.  
7. To validate this switch, in the Verify your email side panel that appears, type to enter the 6-digit code that you receive via email in the Authentication code* field: 

8. Click Verify.  

 

This verifies your switch in 2FA authentication method. You can now view your new authentication settings on the Privacy and security tab of the Account screen.
