Resuming a channel setup in Mews Channel Manager

Setting up a channel involves multiple steps, and some of them, for example, creating room rates on the channel extranet or uploading photos. Mews Channel Manager saves your progress after each step, so you can leave a setup partway through and pick it up later without losing your work.

This article shows you how to find a setup you started earlier and continue from where you left off.

Resuming a channel setup in Mews Channel Manager

How saved progress works

Each step of the setup flow saves your work once you complete it. This applies to both online travel agencies (5 steps on Core, 6 steps on Pro) and the Mews direct booking engine.

If you leave Mews or close the setup panel partway through, your progress up to the last completed step is preserved. The next time you return, you start from the step after the last one you completed.

Finding a setup in progress

On the Channels screen, any channel you have started setting up but not yet enabled shows the status In setup, along with the number of steps completed, for example, "2 of 5 steps done" or "3 of 6 steps done".

Continuing from where you left off

To continue a setup:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menumain menu  > Revenue > Tools > Channels.

  2. Find the channel showing the status In setup.

in setup
  1. Select the channel. The setup panel opens on the next incomplete step.

  2. Complete the remaining steps.

You can leave and return as many times as you need to. The system does not send anything to the channel until you complete the final step and enable it.

Abandoning a setup you no longer want

If you start a setup, but do not complete it, the channel stays in 'setup mode and remains on the Channels screen until you disconnect it or complete the setup.

What to do next

To resume a channel setup:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menumain menu  > Revenue > Tools > Channels.
in setup
  1. Select the channel showing the status In setup.

  2. Continue from the next incomplete step, using How to set up an OTA channel in Mews Channel Manager, How to add a new channel in Mews Channel Manager Pro, or How to set up the Mews direct booking engine as a channel for a detailed step-by-step.

With saved progress, you can spread a channel setup across several sittings, so you can pause to create room rates on the extranet or upload photos without losing what you have already done in Mews.
