Send emails to guests using your property domain

Note:  This feature is currently available only for properties with an Enterprise subscription to Mews.

You can send emails to your guests from your domain name to update them about reservation changes or payment notifications. You can learn more about guest communication emails and how to customize their templates here.

In this article, you can learn about how to:

Set up your property email as the sender

To complete this process you need access to the Domain Name System, DNS, management section of your domain name registrar account.

To set up your property email as the sender:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Screenshot_2.png > Settings > Property
  2. Click on Guest experience, then click Sender address
  3. Click + Add
  4. Enter the email address you wish to send guest communication emails from, then click Next
  5. To finish the setup, you need to complete the verification process by updating the DNS records in your registrar account with the records you can find on this page.
    1. Open another tab to log in to your registrar account. This is the account where you manage your domain name.
    2. Navigate to the DNS management section.
    3. Update the DNS records with the ones we’ve generated for you. Note: Make sure to copy the terms as they appear, do not add any symbols such as commas or full stops.
    4. Save your settings.
  6. Return to Mews and click Verify.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for the DNS settings to update. Until the domain verification is complete, Mews continues to send emails from [email protected]

Once the setup is complete, your property email displays the image.png tag.

Remove your property email as the sender

You can remove your property email as the sender and return to the default settings. In this case, Mews sends guest communication emails on your behalf. You can always customize the emails that Mews sends.

  2. Select Guest experience from the menu on the left.
  3. Click on Sender address, then click Delete
  4. Confirm you want to delete and return to default settings.
  5. You also need to return the DNS records to their default configuration.
