The Market Segmentation report is used to measure the overall performance of specific market segments within time intervals, by obtaining an overview of room nights, ADR, and total revenue.
How to create the Market Segmentation report
The Market Segmentation Report is not a stand-alone report but is part of the Reservation Report. To get the report, follow these steps:
- Open the Reservation report
- Apply the following filters:
- Mode: total.
- Filter: overlapping.
- Status: checked-out, checked-in, confirmed, optional.
- Options: include space charges.
- Group by: segment.
Understanding the Market Segmentation report
Because this report is part of the Reservation report, it is important to know which part represents the Market Segment. When you run the report, in the upper section, the most important columns are:
- Nights- Confirmed,
- Average Rate (Nightly) - Confirmed
- Total Amount - Confirmed
How to balance the Market Segmentation report with the Manager report
The Manager report shows all occupied nights within an interval, while the Reservation report, which you use to produce the Market Segmentation Report, shows the charged nights within an interval. The numbers could not match depending on the occupancy times.
If you want to balance the Manager report with the Market Segmentation report, keep in mind any early arrivals or late departures for that day, and adjust your intervals to include or exclude them as needed
