Data JSON incorrect or unsupported device

The error message "Windows Mews Connector does not support this command. Please check in Mews that the JSON entered in the device settings are correct." can appear either when using a key cutter integration or an external device not supported by Mews Connector:

Key cutter integration

Based on the information you enter into the Data JSON field of your key cutter device configuration (Key cutter settings > Key cutters), the Mews Connector translates each key creation command into a format that your lock software understands. When the information is incorrect, Mews Connector is unable to process the key creation command from the Mews Server and not able to pass on the command to your lock software.

To fix it, go to your key cutter set up guide and make sure to fill the Data JSON field as per set up instructions.

Integrations like InvoiceXpress, GoPOS, or other that uses physical devices

The Mews Connector is intended only for key cutters, printers, and Italian Fiscal Printers. Any other device in Mews, should be connected to another integration and not Mews Connector.

To check if your device is selected in your Mews Connector integration, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Main Menu > Marketplace > My subscriptions > Mews Connector.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Check the devices in the Connected devices filed.
  4. If you see an unsupported device, de-select it.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Restart your Mews Connector application.
