 Why do I get the key encoder timed out error message?

Key encoder devices usually allow a certain amount of time for a user to place or insert a key card. If the encoder does not detect any key cards after the pre-set amount of time, it cancels the key creation command and return a “Time Out” error to Mews.

 

How can I prevent the key encoder timed out error?

Create the key again and make sure you have placed or inserted the key card in/on the encoder machine in a timely manner.
