How to connect an integration to your demo Mews Operations environment

You can test the features of an integration in your demo Mews Operations environment.  Once you add the integration, you must obtain an access token and manually send this to your integration partner to complete the connection.

Pre-requisites

Check with the integration partner that you can test out the features of their integration in your demo Mews Operations environment.

 

Client and access tokens are used to connect your Mews Operations environment to other external services by using the Mews Open API.

 

• Client tokens: A security token integration partners use to authenticate their applications when accessing the Mews Open API. These contain sensitive information owned by the integration partner and should not be shared by or with Mews. 

 

• Access tokens: A security token generated by each unique marketplace integration. Used for accessing the property’s data through the Mews Open API. You should keep your Access token safe. With this token, anyone can access all your data.

 

Step 1: Connect the integration

1. In your demo Mews Operations, go to the main menu  > Marketplace.

 

2. Locate the channel manager integration you want to connect by browsing the integration categories in the left-hand menu. Alternatively, you can search for the integration using the search field. For this example, we are using the Are you ready to integrate with Mews? integration.

 

3. Click Explore.

 

4. Click Connect integration.

 

Step 2: Obtain the access token

1. In your demo Mews Operations, go to the main menu  > Marketplace  > My subscriptions. 

 

2. Locate the required integration, then click Edit to go to settings.

3. Click the  icon at the screen's top right corner and copy the API token.

 

Note: Keep your Access token safe. With this token, anyone can access all your data.

 

Step 3: Send the access token to your integration partner

Your demo Mews Operations environment does not automatically send emails containing the access token to your integration partner. You have to send your access token to the integration partner manually.

 

1. Use a secure messaging tool like onetimesecret.com to share the access token with the integration partner.
