How to send manual updates to channel managers
Sending manual updates to channel managers
A manual update or a manual push is when you manually trigger a "push" in Mews Operations to your channel manager with all the latest updates regarding your availability, rates, and restrictions.
When you create, modify, or delete any of your availability, rates and restrictions, Mews advises you to send a manual push to synchronize the changes immediately. You can also push individual rates with a manual update.
Note:
- You do not need to enable availability, rates, or restrictions in your integration settings before sending a manual update. The Manual actions screen lets you choose which type of update to send, for example, availability, rates, or restrictions, even if you do not enable those operations. This is useful when:
- You want to test the connection before enabling the integration
- Your property sends occasional manual updates instead of enabling operations permanently
- Only employees with admin rights can send a manual inventory push. You can learn more about managing employee permissions here.
- To change the rights to an employee profile, follow the instructions in this help article.
In this article you can learn the following about sending manual updates to channel managers:
How to send a manual update
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Marketplace > My subscriptions.
- Locate the channel manager integration. Click on Edit to go to the settings page.
- From the menu on the left side, click on Manual actions.
- To send a push for a certain date(s), select the date(s) in the Push Inventory section in the From and To fields by clicking on the
icon.
- To push individual rates, click to select the rate from the Channel manager rates dropdown menu. Note: If you do not select any rates during a manual push, the system selects all rates by default.
- To push individual types, click to select the type from the Types dropdown menu.
- Click Send.
Note:
- You can choose specific days, for instance, when a channel manager partner asks you to send a push on a specific date range to investigate what Mews is sending.
- In case you need to send a "full push", for example, for a year, in the From field, choose today’s date, and in the To field, pick the same date in the next year. See the screenshot below.
- The length of the manual push is different for each channel manager. You can verify it on the channel integration settings page in the Update interval length field.
After initiating the push, you can check its status in the Channel manager queue. This is to make sure Mews sends information successfully to the channel manager. You can learn more about reading channel manager logs here.
Note: Mews only sends information to your channel manager for the operations you select in the Enabled operations field of your channel manager integration settings page. If you want Mews to send updates automatically, enable the relevant operations.
