You can set up notifications for each of your services if you want Mews to notify you about new orders. For example, new reservations, in the case of your bookable service. By default, the system sends notifications when:

  • a report export is ready for download, or 
  • a device command, such as for a key encoder or terminal fails.

You can set up the system to receive email notifications as well. To view the notifications in Mews Operations, click on the  Notifications icon as below:

Note: Mews does not send notifications or email notifications for cancellations.  

In this article you can learn about how to set up notifications:

  

Step 1: Turn on notifications 

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Menu arrow right  > Settings > Services. 
  2. Click on the service you want to set up notifications for.
  3. Under Options, check the following boxes: 
    • Check the Order generates notification box to generate a notification.
    • Check the Order generates email box generate an email notification.
  4. Click Save.

Note: Mews delivers all emails directly to email addresses in employee profiles. To receive notifications to a generic email address, you need to: 

  • create a profile with that generic email address, and 
  • attach it to the team or individual responsible for receiving the notification. 

 

Step 2: Choose the notification recipient 

To assign an employee or department to receive notifications on generation of a new order:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Menu arrow right  > Settings > Services. 
  2. Click on the service you want to set up notifications for. 
  3. Under Responsibility, enter the following details: 
    • Responsible employee: Click to select the employee you want to receive notifications. Note: You can add both a responsible employee and a responsible department. This notifies both the responsible employee and the responsible department even if the employee is not part of that department. 
    • Responsible department: Click to select the department you want to receive notifications. Note: If you select a Responsible department, the system notifies everyone in that department about new orders.
    • Notify responsible employee about: Click to select which new reservations you want to notify employees or departments about, such as reservations from Mews Operations, the Booking Engine or channel managers.  

 Choosethenotification  

  1. Click Save.   

You can now receive notifications for your selected services.
