How to add kitchen notes to an order in Mews POS

You add kitchen notes in Mews POS to communicate special instructions or guest-specific information between wait-staff and kitchen staff. You can add a kitchen note when creating or editing an order in the cart screen. These notes help staff handle requests accurately and maintain a polished guest experience. Kitchen notes print only on kitchen receipts. They do not appear on guest-facing documents, such as invoices or order summaries.

Note:

  • Kitchen notes are private by default. They never appear on invoices or receipts shared with guests.
  • You can add kitchen notes to sub-items in a product bundle. These notes appear only on kitchen receipts.

To add a kitchen note to an order in the Mews POS app:

  1. On the Cart screen, tap the menu icon in the top right corner.
  2. Tap Add note to order.
  3. Enter your kitchen note. For example, "Birthday table - add candle", or "Table 3 is a regular".
  4. Tap Save

This adds the note to the order. The note prints only on the kitchen receipt.

Once you add the kitchen note, you can continue building the order and send it to the kitchen.
