If you need to cancel a deposit but you can't do it from the Items tab in the reservation module, it's because the consumption date of the deposit is out of the editable history window.
To cancel deposit out of the editable history window, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the billing screen of the reservation in which you have the deposit.
- Post an external payment against the deposit for the same amount.
- Close the bill and immediately rebate it.
- Post the external refund against the rebated item for the same value as the deposit.
- When you close the bill, the deposit is removed, and the external payments balance each other out.
