How to restore a canceled reservation in Mews Operations

When you need to correct an accidental cancellation or address a missed confirmation, you can restore a canceled reservation, only if it is within your Operational editable history window. This allows you to restore all the details of that reservation without needing to create a new one.

Once you restore a reservation, you need to manually edit any payment updates, such as payment status or card charges, in the payments tab.


Note:

  • Only employees with Create and manage reservations permissions can restore canceled reservations.
  • You cannot restore a canceled reservation in the editable history window if,
    • the original cancellation created rebates
    • you have already billed those rebates to the customer

The system cannot cancel billed rebates, so it cannot restore the reservation.

To restore a canceled reservation in Mews Operations:

  1. In the search bar, enter the reservation’s Confirmation number, space number, or group name
  2. Click the reservation.
  3. In the Status tab, you can restore the reservation from the Restore reservations section.

 

    • Reason: Click to select one of the following reasons for restoring the reservation:
      • Confirmation missed
      • Guest request
      • Guest showed up
      • Other
      • Property mistake
    • Details: Enter relevant details about restoring the reservation that your staff can verify in the Action log tab or the Reservation report.
  1. Click Restore. A pop-up window opens, reminding you about the deactivation of automatic payments and that system removes the cancellation fee.
  2. Click Restore anyway to confirm the action. 

You can now view the restored reservation in the Timeline.
