You need to check out a reservation at the end of a guest's stay to settle all charges, make the room available for your next guests, and maintain accurate records of guest stays and financial transactions. You can check out a reservation in Mews Operations from the Reservations management screen.
You can also use the Check-out report, to check out all reservations with no outstanding balance, at once.
To check out a reservation in Mews Operations:
- Open the reservation you need to check out. You can either:
- In the search bar, type in the guest’s name, room number, or confirmation number to open their reservation. Click the appropriate reservation.
- Click
Reservation overview > Departures to view your remaining departures. Click Check out on the reservation due for check out.
- In the
Timeline, click the reservation > Manage.
- This opens the Status tab of the Reservations management screen.
Note:- To settle your guest bills first, click Billing or open the Billing tab. Once you settle the reservation’s charges, close the Billing screen and return to the Status tab of your Reservations management screen.
- The system cannot close the items unallocated to a bill during check-in. You need to move the items to the appropriate bill before closing those items.
- Under Check out, you can check:
- Close balanced bills: Close open bills with a balance of 0.
- Check out with unbalanced bill: Check out with an outstanding balance. You need to add a Reason for your action before checking out your guest.
- Click Check out.
This checks out your guest and ensures the room is available for a new reservation.
Note: For reservations with no outstanding balance or when you want to check out with an unbalanced bill, you can also check out directly from your reservation’s Smart detail window on the Timeline.
