How to complete your KYB onboarding with Duna in Mews Operations

Know Your Business, or KYB, is the verification you complete to activate Mews Payments for your property. Mews now offers a self-service KYB onboarding experience powered by Duna, a compliance platform that collects your business details and runs the required identity and risk checks automatically. You complete the whole process yourself through one guided digital flow, so your payments activate faster and with less back-and-forth. You start KYB onboarding from your Onboarding Dashboard in Mews, at the point where you are setting up Mews Payments for the first time. Your payments activate once your application passes verification and your payment service provider approves you.

Note
  • You can complete this on mobile or desktop, or switch between them at any time.
  • Your progress is saved automatically, so you can pick up where you left off.

Onboarding statuses

Your Onboarding Dashboard shows one of the following statuses so you always know where your application stands:

  • No-go: Mews and your payment service provider have not verified your business yet. Check your email for the verification link and complete the form. If you have already submitted it, contact your onboarding manager.
  • Pending: Mews has received your details and is verifying your business. There are no further steps from your end.
  • Ready to go live: Mews has verified your business. You can go live and start taking payments.

What happens after you submit

After you submit your application, Mews reviews the outcome of the automated checks. Your onboarding is complete only once your payment service provider, such as Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, or Airwallex, activates your payments and payouts. When your status is Ready to go live, your property can start processing payments through Mews Payments.

If any information needs correcting, Mews notifies you so you can update it, and the checks run again on the updated details.
